To the Nines – Janet Evanovich

Stephanie Plum Novel, Number 9 in the Mystery Series

Evanovich has written another great Stephanie Plum novel; filled with mystery, romance and humour.

In To the Nines, Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter unusual, is on the run. While Stephanie is hunting down the elusive bond skipping Samuel Singh she is being hunted by a group of men who think killing is a game. Other various bond skipping criminals also make appearances as well.

Assisting Characters

Working together on this case with Ranger you will find that the sexual tension is high and so is the list of injuries to Ranger’s men assigned to protect her. The on-again off again relationship between Joe Morelli and Stephanie is on strong and fast. Even Morelli’s Grandma Bella played a part sharing her visions for Stephanie of babies and death. The case takes Stephanie, Lula and Connie to Las Vegas where there is more murder and mayhem. Naturally Stephanie’s family are present. Now that Klougn is moving in with Valerie, who finally has her baby in this book, Stephanie's Dad wants to move out because his house is too crowded. Opinionated Mrs. Apusenja, Singh’s landlord, is definitely a character Stephanie and Lula would like to have done without. Stephanie also introduces us to Punky Balog, Butchy Salazar, Steven Wegan and Roger Pitch.

Weapons Plus

You will have to read this book to find out how kidnapping, petroleum jelly, tranquilizer darts, red roses and white carnations, paintball guns, computer threats, a dog named Boo, stun guns, illegal entry, Lula’s new diet, revolvers and Morelli’s ex-girlfriend Terry Gilman all play roles throughout this fast action book.

My Opinion

I loved this book. With each rise of action, you are treated with bits of humour and sexual innuendo. As usual, the characters work and play great together. This is definitely one of the best in the series.
